This will be the final phases of the renovation of, and addition to, the Buffalo State Science Building, completing the Science & Mathematics Complex (SAMC).
The demolition of the south wing of the existing remaining part of the vacant Science Building will begin this fall which will allow for construction of the final addition to the SAMC complex to begin next summer. The final additon will connect the main entrance and lobby to the three-story atrium constructed in the project's first phase. Inside the lobby will be the spherical stand-alone Whitworth Ferguson Planetarium (pictured above). The lobby will also feature a cafe and seating area.
Phase 3 adds large lecture halls, classrooms, a greenhouse, graduate student space, faculty offices and research labs for Biology, Chemistry and Earth Science. Landscaping for the complex will be also completed in this phase.
