MAINTENANCE PRIORITIES DURING SNOW EVENTS:
Clear roadways and fire hydrants for emergency response vehicles
Clear sidewalks, building entrances and curb cuts for egress to accessible building entrances by the mobility impaired. Accessible Building Entrance Map
Ensure handicapped parking has access to adjacent areas while clearing parking lots nearest campus buildings, followed by outlying parking lots. Accessible Building Entrance Map
SNOW RELATED ACCESSIBILITY NEEDS:
Help us anticipate personal mobility needs before it snows. Complete the Voluntary Inclement Weather form for students or employees.
SNOW & ICE ABATEMENT:
It takes 12 hours from the onset of snow/ice accumulation to complete one campus-wide abatement cycle. When snow or ice conditions persist, the cycle continues beyond 12 hours. For heavy accumulations, additional time is taken to transport plowed snow to off-site locations.
At the onset of snow or ice conditions, University Police activates Facilities Operations 24/7, as required.
Information promoting a weather-ready campus can be found at WxBuffWarn.
Call Facilities Operations at 878-6111 anytime to report hazardous snow/ice conditions.
