SUNY Buffalo State builds sustainable facilities and is committed to Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) standards in its construction. LEED status, granted by the U.S. Green Building Council, recognizes best-in-class sustainable building strategies. The campus has four LEED-Certified buildings: Burchfield Penney Art Center (LEED Silver), Student Apartment Complex (LEED Gold), Houston Gym (LEED Gold) and Technology Building (LEED Gold). The campus is completing the process to have the Science & Mathematics Complex Phase 1 and Phase 2 projects, Caudell Hall and Tower 1 LEED-certified.
In addition to promoting sustainable design, the campus is completing an Energy Master Plan that will assist the college in saving energy and money. Please visit the campus sustainability website for additional information about ways in which Buffalo State promotes sustainability.
