Sustainable Design

New Technology Building - Photovoltaics

SUNY Buffalo State builds sustainable facilities and is committed to Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) standards in its construction. LEED status, granted by the U.S. Green Building Council, recognizes best-in-class sustainable building strategies.  The campus has three LEED-Certified Buildings: Burchfield Penney Art Center (silver), Student Apartment Complex (gold) and Technology Building (gold).  The campus is completing the process to have the Houston Gym Rehabilitation and Science & Mathematics Complex Phase 1 project certified.

In addition to promoting sustainable design, the campus is completing an Energy Master Plan that will assist the college in saving energy and money.  Please visit the campus sustainability website for additional information about ways in which Buffalo State promotes sustainability.
